Microfiction Monday: The Prisoner

The prisoner knew she'd fit through one of the windows, but instead had to watch her captors filling in all the exits, brick by slow brick.

This is my
second attempt at

hosted by Susan at Stony River.

The idea is to copy the photo Susan provided, then write a short (very short) story about it...in only 140 characters! For someone who always overwrites, this is an excellent exercise.

Great job. I'm sure it was scary to watch that filling in.... :O(

Scary thought, wouldn't like to have to watch!
Nicely done Kay!

Not a nice thing to watch, but nice write.

And I'm sure that if she dashed out one of the openings, the king would have her killed. A sad tale. Well done!

Ever so painful to watch something so slow happen. You are doing well at the Microfictions.

That would be awful, having to watch "brick by slow brick" and seeing no escape. Nice MM

Ooooh, I wouldn't be able to just stand there - I'd have to use that pointy shovel and...do something! HA! Nice MM Kay!

That would scare me half to death. Well done.

There is something quietly threatening about newish bricks creating a wall alongside old stone! Interesting micro!

Very good, Kay. I tried to think of something clever, but my brain went to sleep.

EW! How very sad!

The poor dear...too bad she hadn't thought of using those garden tools as weapons...surely to die fighting is better than to die by giving up...

Have a great week. Cheers!

I can't imagine that feeling. Good job!

Sent shivers. It's scary to think that all she could do was watch. Loved it. Especially that it's scary.

very good story!

You know, I don't feel sorry for her since she is just standing and watching. I guarantee if it were me a few of them would be trying to figure out how to plug pitchfork holes in their back sides, and the rest would be dodging bricks.

@ Jean and Quilly -- you're both right, of course. I'd fight and kick and scream and do them as much damage as I could, but she looks wimpy, in my not-so-humble opinion.

Don't despair, Lady. They forgot about the spades. You can always did a tunnel out.

Great microfiction!
