Bus stop in Torsby, Sweden. Wikimedia Commons |
Just a little limerick because I've been thinking of two blogging friends: Mara, from the Netherlands, is now a bus driver in Norway.
Wikimedia Commons couldn't seem to provide me a photo of a Norwegian bus, so I used one of a bus stop in Sweden. Not politically correct, perhaps, but I'm hoping the scenery, such as it is, might suffice to give the photo a certain Scandinavian je ne sais quoi.
The other blogger is my Scottish-Australian friend Yamini who is now living in and blogging from India, and recently told us a story about missing a bus the first time she and a friend visited Australia.
So, for Mara and for Yam, a photo below of a bus in my old home city, Vancouver. Parking sign sent to me by my adopted niece Tam in northern British Columbia.

Catching a ride on a bus
Is easy, there isn’t much fuss,
Quite cheaply, you hear,
You’ll get there from here
As long as you’re not in a rush.

A cute, rollicking limerick. Lots of fun. Curious about your comment on Oz/Australian buses. I have not known that scenario and I live here.
I too have to travel by bus for my work nad its the same rush early morning. Though I have a vehicle of my own, but can't imagine driving it all the way in crowded place like New Delhi, India. So , I prefer bus.
I am so honoured! What fun to have a limerick made just for me (I don't know the other blogger, so of course it's just for me). Thank you so much!!

Oh Kay what a surprise it was to see my name there - (blushing) - that bus trip was certainly a world apart! Keep an eye out on Wednesday's post - Canadian connection coming up!!!
Love your limerick and the bus is a smart looking specimen. Hugs, YAM xx
That's for certain!
That's right, it is nice for a leisurely ride. Great limerick Kay!

I love the Toad sign. And the limerick!
Interesting how people you're talking about - all moved, working and seem adapted well...the message: it's easy...very optimistic..~ love the parking sign :)
So cool! True! And I enjoyed all the stories surrounding it.
Clever and quite right.
that limerick is rolling along just like those buses
That sign is great!! I always enjoy your talking to us, Kay...AKA process notes...makes your posts so personable! It's neat to think of people all over the world catching/missing buses. :)
Love the sign! ha. Sometimes buses are easier as taxi drivers these days are not always versed well in English. I asked a Chicago taxi drive to take me to the Amtrak station. I was let of at a Metro station. I did not know any better... it took me a few minutes to realize the mistake, but he was GONE. And when I finally got to the Amtrak station and sat in my seat, it took off in 15 seconds! A close call for sure.
You are amazing! I love it.
