April 16th, time for a form challenge

Marian has offered two forms, which the Imaginary Garden with Real Toads has seen before, and is letting us choose our favorite for a "brand new, fresh-as-spring poem".
I've been thinking of roundels and rondelets for 24 hours, for my April 16 poem, but nothing resembling poetry issued from this keyboard.
Hmm. "Palatable" Marian calls these forms. That's rather appealing to my food addiction, so maybe, after my recent travels with my husband...

So here is my rondolet, entitled
Eating in Italy

Love may be the king
but food is for certain the queen,
love may be the king
as Dean Martin once used to sing,
but everywhere there we have seen
pasta dishes fit for a queen,
though love may be king.

Oh yummy Kay, that pasta specialty shop would be perfect for me! Hope you're all keeping well. Ambrose says thanks Auntie Kay for telling him he's still the best in this house! Hugs Jo

Hello,
amo Dean Martin.

Ah, what a delightful poem, and a delightful description! Who wouldn't want to go some place ruled by love and love of food! :o)

Cleverly played!

Curiosity begs the question - did you try anything like as many pastas as are on display here? It's an art.

So are rondolets. Nice. &>

Very impressive - love the topic, the photo (yum!) and how wonderfully you executed the form.

My brain is sludge right now, inspiration is NOT happening. Soooooooo tired!

Your image is awesome!! And I'm seeing a reflection of someone resembling "the king-Elvis?" in the reflection? Or no? Any way I enjoyed both image and poem, thank you, Kay!

The pasta looks like works of art! I like your interplay of king and queen.

I can tell you the truth of this from living in Italy where food shared with family and friends is the center of life.
