a poem a day
is hard, in a way
though some can say
it is easy —
if you’re Hedge or Shay
or Mama Z
it shouldn’t make
you too crazy,
but for me at my age
when I’ve reached the stage
of forgetting the date or the day:
I get very confused
and when I have used
up all of my brain,
it’s a chore
~
all in all
it’s been fun
and now there’s just one

for tomorrow
and how hard
can that be?
a word here or there,
arranged in a pair,
to look like a rhyme
at least
some of the time:
blank verse
or free verse
I’ll call it.
and I’ll be delighted
yes, very excited
for the first day
in May
to arrive—
May Day
hooray!
no more
poem
a day!
Because this is Open Link Monday, there are no rules for the second last day of April's poem-a-day challenge at the Imaginary Garden with Real Toads. I'm just so pleased to have come this far...Day 29...and extremely glad so many came with me.
Thanks, Toads, I love you!
See you tomorrow!

It has been more difficult than I thought but I'm glad I stuck it out. Well done to you, Kay. The end is in sight.
Smile -
and yes, tomorrow's poem is going to be the hardest to write of them all.
My mind is on empty now and I can't envisage coming up with anything at all.
But that happened several times this month, and then yet another fascinating prompt helps me get into it.
I have admired the wit, the intellect, the poetic words and above all, the kindness I have met along the way.
It has been a special experience.
I think you did a great job! I couldn't have done it (I am no poet and I know it). Some of the poems were beyond me, others were right up my street.
You are a clever girl!
You area still on a roll!! I didn't quite make it but it has been fun with all the prompts.
You did it, kiddo....yay! And with lots of humor, too!
Love this! I think all of us who have taken on the challenge of a poem a day will breathe a sigh of relief on May 1st!
goodone...
Oh Please, Kay ~~ Don't stop writing these delightful poems!!!
Hang in there, one more day.
Congratulations are in order from here. Good Job, Kay!!!
