Succinctly Yours: transition

Photo provided as prompt
Hank thought they'd make the transition from working to retirement quite easily, but forgot his wife couldn't swim.

Grandma's Goulash blog.

Every week Grandma's Goulash challenges bloggers to use the provided photo as inspiration for a short story of 140 words, or a short-short story of 140 characters including spaces and punctuation.
Grandma's daughter Calico provides the word of the week before she sees the photo. This week's word is transition. I have used it in my submission of 115 characters, including spaces and punctuation.

Good take on both the image, and the mandatory word. Rather than being 'succinctly yours', it is more like 'tweetly yours'.

He forgot??? I'm not buying that one. He was probably just planning for a quiet retirement! :D

Uh oh. I hope the empty chair doesn't mean that things went dreadfully awry in their retirement. Thanks for the chuckle, Kay!

Hahaha! I can't swim either, but I love the beach. There have been several times when somebody had to leave their dry, comfy beach chair to jump in after me. Good one.
