Pet Pride: her daddy loves a wet dog

In this picture, Lindy's daddy has been drying her with a towel because she went into her wading pool after they came home from their walk. She tried to get away from him by climbing up onto her seat to sit in the sunshine that came through the window, so he sat down on his chair to wait.
That's her new favorite toy, named Biggy Piggy, on the stool, along with another towel, because it often takes two towels, and two people, to get her dry. If she doesn't get thoroughly dry, she can develop sores on her skin.

Lindy says, "Do your people insist on drying you when you've been outside, Bozo? I like the towel for a little while, but then I get tired of it, and I want to rest for a while."

To survive the heat today, she would need lots of wading pool visits. We rarely need air conditioning here on the coast, but on days like today I would love it. Even up at the cabin it was so hot I had to jump in the lake, had to. - Margy

That looks like a great way to spend the day, a walk, splash in the pool and then curl up in a sunny spot next to daddy.

Hi Lindy, Cindi & The Kitty Krew here. We don't understand the attraction to water. We think all water is evil, except to drink of course.

Gosh! I had no idea that dogs needed to be kept dry. I should tell my son now that they have their dog, Mungo back again.

Alfie thinks that getting dried is as much fun as getting wet!

I love hearing about Lindy. I hadn't known that, about the sores if you don't dry them completely. Good to know.

Biggy Piggy. What a crack up.

Am I weird to say I don't mnd the smell of wet dog?! My two river dive every day at the moment - a regular bath is waste of effort so I've kinda got used to it!!

Hi Kay...
regarding your question on my shadow shot blog comments. Runzas are DELICIOUS!!! Of course I have made them from just watching my mother make them years ago. And there ARE recipes online. This one is the closest to how I make them...

But, I would substitute shredded cook beef roast instead of ground beef. More flavorful!!! I've also made them with leftover turkey [shredded] and they're good, but nothing quite as tasty as using shredded beef.

Heat the beef [low heat], onion and chopped up cabbage until the onion and cabbage are translucent/tender --- allow to cool some and then roll out the raw bread dough...scoop about 1/2 cup meat mixture onto dough...seal dough....bake at 350 [greased cookie sheet] until dough is well browned. Take out of oven...baste your runza with melted butter...and serve. Mine are dipped in yellow mustard on the side.

Most of the time I think baths are the pits, but it has been so hot here the past few days, they're beginning to feel pretty good!! You always look great, Lindy, and I love Biggy Piggy!!

We use a towel on our dog first but then switch to the blow dryer. It usually takes a good 15 minutes to dry her of after getting soaked while walking in the rain.

Lindy is such a gorgeous character! Even when all wet! This is a lovely photo of the sun and shadow playing round her damp coat!

If you've had that awful heat, she probably needed a wee bit of a dip. She sure looks tuckered out - must have been fun!
