But just a note about the video: I remember when dancers on TV dressed like that, and when they could jive like that, but I was a bit younger and never managed to get a handle on real 1950s jiving.
And as for slow dancing? My feet were always stompin' on my partner's feet. To save men's toes, I eventually developed a pretty wicked shimmy for myself in the 70s. I remember going to the Hot Jazz Club in Vancouver with a friend, and when I was shimmying, she said "Oh yes, that's my friend Katie" in reference to a very old song called
"I Wish I Could Shimmy like my Sister Kate"

Love this song Kay, I'm going to be humming it all day tomorrow. I'm like you, I was a little too young to get into the '50s music. The first dance I remember doing was the Twist.
What a fun post today - that was always a fun song to sing and dance to! I sure miss those days of dancing!
I did a lot of rockin' and a-boppin' to that song. I've noticed that robins really do keep themselves very clean.
I am dancing to the lyrics as I sit on the chair....hope I don't break anything and go tumblin' to the floor. LOL
