We're back...again...didja miss us?

Photos to come soon of our latest journey, to San Diego for several days (yes, we went to the zoo) and from San Diego on a cruise to Manzanillo, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas (and San Jose del Cabo) and to Ensenada, which is no longer the sleepy, dusty little town I remember from years gone by.


Here we are on the deck of the Carnival Spirit at Puerto Vallarta. There were many families aboard the ship because so many children had Easter vacations. It was a busy cruise, on a "fun ship"! Dick enjoyed the big waterslide, and I loved the spa.






We got home yesterday, and this afternoon a young grey cat decided it wants to come into our house, despite the fact that it saw the lovely Lindy, our Golden Retriever, through the door. Lindy was wagging her tail and looking like she might enjoy having a cat roommate, but we travel too much to be able to have two pets. We'll have to put up "Found" notices.

Reflecting on some summery locations

We live in a dry part of Canada. It is also the sunniest part of the whole country. But right now we have precipitation. White precipitation, lots of it. It is still snowing and the forecast says it won't stop until Tuesday. Therefore, I thought I'd reflect on some of the sunny places we've visited, just to make myself feel sunnier, and it worked.
As I looked at pictures from some of our favorite trips, one of my favorite blogs to follow, Sylvia from Over the Hill, came up on my site with the beautiful photos Sylvia had posted for Weekend Reflections, and it gave me another idea. Thanks, Sylvia.
So, here I have two 2006 shots from one of our favorite places, San Diego, California. The first is from the San Diego Zoo Wild Animal Park, now known as the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. The second was taken in downtown San Diego. We were quite near the beautiful old Santa Fe train station, waiting for something, maybe a bus to take us to Petco Park for a ballgame, when my husband wanted to wander off with his camera for a while. We had some extra time, so I agreed.
Away he went, while I happily hung out with the pigeons by the fountain in front of the train station, being a person addicted to trains and train stations. (The photo on my profile page was taken at Union Station in Toronto during my solo trip to the east coast of Canada by train.) Dick came back in good time and one of the pictures in his camera was this one of buildings reflected in other buildings.

This is my first contribution to the Weekend Reflections meme. Maybe it won't be my last.
