Skywatching at a Virginia river mouth

Historic Yorktown, Virginia, built as a British colony, is near the mouth of the York River. As anyone who has ever lived where a river meets the sea will know, skies can change from moment to moment. I took these first photos shortly after I parked my rental car.

Clouds came and went, and came again.

These photos were taken a short while later.

As I was ready to continue on my way, the blue of the sky was moving in.

Great account of the skies where you were!

That is the one thing I so adore about Tofino - the skies change constantly, always dramatic, always transforming. Beach weather is dramatic and spectacular. Sigh. Take me home, country roads! SOON!

Great shots! Love the ones you took near the Waterman's Museum (a place I've never visited even though I pass by it several times a week).

Great skies! Nothing like the one I am seeing right now: grey, interspersed with a different grey and then a bit more grey added in for effect! Just waiting for the rain now!

I love walking around boat yards and docks. Maybe that is one reason I'm drawn to coastal communities. - Margy
