Not a trained critter, a natural climber

Imagine my husband's surprise while walking our dog Lindy last week...they saw this beautiful big fellow climbing the stone steps inside someone's back yard.
Natural climbers, deer would be more wary of the man and the Golden Retriever than they would of a few stairs, and had probably entered the sloped yard via the same route anyway.

A handsome fellow, but he looks kind of out of place climbing the stairs.

I've seen some deer climbing stairs and wandering at the front door of suburban homes - they do look out of place even if they seem comfortable! I haven't seen any with such magnificent antlers, though.

It looks like that little tree was worth the climb, it must be tasty. Either that or he's pausing before ringing the doorbell to ask for a snack.

At least that is something I don't have to contend with in my garden. We caught the second woodrat. Hopefully that was the last (for this year at least). - Margy

That is amazing! They are in rut right now and very dangerous. What fun too see one, though.
I missed Camera Critters, we were on a trek. Trying to keep hubby's mind off of his health.
