L is for Lilacs after a spring rain, because, after someone once posted L is for the Louvre, how can anyone else top that?

Beautiful lilacs Kay. Your photos nicely catch the rain on them. Sigh I miss sunshine already. The rains have been very heavy this past week. I love Fall but not when it is raining all the time. Rain is for winter! Here's to hoping for more sunshine and a warmer Fall for the both of us.

Ah, lilacs have always been my favourite spring flower. I remember being in grade 2 and passing a house on my way to school each day that had a huge bush. I would always stop and smell the lilacs and it carried me through the day!

There was a lilac bush right next to our house when we grew up. One of my favorite smells!

Gramma had a lilac bush right outside her bedroom window. In those days there was no air conditioning. Windows were kept closed during the day, but opened right after sundown to let the cooler air in. And on the breeze came the wonderful smell of lilac. - Margy
Ah, yes, we had a huge purple lilac bush next to our house. The smell pervaded our entire back yard, and I swear I could smell the blooms in your pictures. Thanks, Kay. Amy
