Use whatever you've got to slide downhill in our world

Richard Schear photos
Dick and Lindy saw all kinds of snow fun going on at the nearby coulee where they were walking two days ago. Since then, we've had light snow almost constantly, so next weekend should be great, too.

It really is a winter wonderland in Alberta, Kay! Thankfully, our snow is almost gone but threatens to come back on Wednesday. Snow is so pretty and fun to sled in but so difficult when driving.

It does look like fun, but I think I'd better watch from a distance! Beautiful snowy hills. Terrific shots! It is still snowing here in Seattle, down to 16 degrees by tomorrow night and windy!!! Have a great week!

That looks like so much fun. You certainly have a lot of snow for this time of year.

I have experienced this kind of snow for just four to five hours in my life, and these shots excite me. :)

Beautiful shots of the place. This reminds me of my days in USA.

Oh wow! That is so fantastic! What a huge hill! My kids would have gone nuts if we had a hill like that in Illinois. Unfortunately, the Midwest is VERY flat.

@ Kay -- that's so funny. I think it is a very small hill, because I'm from British Columbia, which has row after row of mountain ranges.
And Dick says to tell you there are big mountains in Alberta, too, which is true. The Rocky Mountains are on the border between BC and Alberta, and there is a ski hill in the Cypress Hills on the Saskatchewan border an hour or so east of us.

Winter sure comes early there. That's a fine hill compared to what we have very locally -- although there is hilly terrain close by -- don't know if much of it is accessible, however -- it's kind of like lake access around here -- most of us are have-nots.

I can't believe how much snow you guys have. Please keep it over at your neck of the woods though!!!

It's lovely snow, especially because it's near you, not me. :)

I love the inventiveness of sledders.

It all looks very pretty but too cold for me. I might manage one or two slides but my preferred place is by a roaring fire, sipping hot buttered rum and enjoying the snow from that vantage point.

It helps me remember what fun it was to go flying down a hill on a sled as a kid. That snow is beautiful. I'm ready for some here.

We still have some crunchy snow on the ground but rains are coming to wash it away. I won't miss the ice on the roads and sidewalks. - Margy

I live in so many bubbles here on the central coast of California, not the least of which is a weather bubble. I am having trouble taking in that much snow right now!

Kay, I saw your comment on Friko's blog and as a fellow Albertan was intrigued by the address. Then when I saw the Unseat Harper button I was even MORE interested. Couldn't agree more.

The snow is great - the temperatures not so much...

Wow, fantastic shots. I haven't experienced snow yet because we dont have snow in the place where we live.

Looks really fun to me, Kay. I would love to slide down the hill..."smile". You really have much snow already. We got the first snow yesterday, which resulted in totally chaos here.

Nice to look at... but brrrr.... I'd be packing for Hawaii too! :-D Can't remember the last time I went sledding... [It's been a silly busy week for me, and it's impossible to catch up, but I have done a quick scroll down...]
