Not long after that, the snow began to fall again, and it kept snowing for a day and a half, until everything was covered in sparkling white again. Then this morning, we awoke to the sight of hoar frost covering everything with glistening white. Also known as radiation frost, formed when the objects are colder than the air, it is not particularly good for plants and trees, but hoar frost is beautiful to see.

Only once have I experienced a hoar frost, it is so beautiful. Great photos.
Love the hoar frost, too. Did see it a couple of times in Montana when we lived there. Your photos are all terrific as always! Love the deer!
Hope your week is off to a great start! Enjoy! Stay warm!

Thanks for explaining hoarfrost, I have seen it but not known what to call it or why it came to be! That is a handsome buck, around here he would be much sought after by those who enjoy venison! But I expect he is pretty safe on the street by your house...
Wow...I love your bright blue sky!!! We have lots of deers here, but they are very shy and I have never seen one in the town! This is an amazing shot!
I hope you will keep the blue sky for a while..."smile"
Stay warm!/Randi
Wonderful shots. I do love hoar frost - it is stunning! We had amazing hoar frost last year...
Hi Kay, thanks for dropping by at The Farm.
It's quite amazing to have deers strolling down the street in this day and age.
The hoar frost is beautiful.
Wonderful shots. That is lot of snow and very beautiful.
That's fabulous. We occasionally had deer wandering our village in Illinois also, but I don't think I ever saw one with antlers. That is so cool.
I do love how everything is frosted white! You won't see that when you come here.
Wow, I have never seen a hoar frost.
Your shots are just magical, and I love the deer.
Wow your world there is fascinating! The wonderful winter scenery with white snow!I love the little critter in your first picture, amazing shot!

Bellissimo animale...
Buona giornata.

But what did the deer eat? Sloshy bronw slithers of grass - frozen?
Hoar frost is so beautiful, especially with the blue sky. I haven't seen any in so long, now that i think about it.
And the deer! Just sauntering past your window!
Thanks for showing these beautiful wintry pictures!Hoar frost is lovely. We had it several times now here in my country! Last night it had been snowing so every autumn tree is now white.
Thanks for your visit and comment, which I wholeheartedly agree with!
When I see antlers, I think Christmas really is around the corner. The frost pictures are pretty but crunchy cold. :)
It is great to see. The deer too.
Beautiful shots and an interesting post. Thanks for the information about hoar frost. Great shot of the deer strolling up the street. These are all good shots but that was my favorite.
Hmmm. It must be interesting to have a deer walking down the street!
Beautiful and interesting My World Tuesday posting
like the photo with the deer in the street

Beautiful captures of the hoar frost. It is a gorgeous sight to see. How cool to see the deer walking down the street. Wonderful photos, Kay.
I've never seen this type of frost before. Pretty amazing stuff, lovely to look at. Thanks for sharing the info and pics.
Powell River is the same. I see more deer and bear in town than in the bush. We have too many attractions for them. - Margy
What a pretty buck! Great that Dick had his wits about him to capture him. And your new camera is taking amazing hoar photos, Kay!
