Moonrise, Sunset
Photos by Richard Schear
The first thing I noticed about the prairie is the immensity of its sky. The sky is so wide, one thing can be happening on one side while something completely different is happening on the other. My husband recently saw the moon coming up and the sun going down while he was walking Lindy, our golden retriever. Fortunately, he had his camera with him and caught these beautiful shots. As a born-and-bred British Columbian, I will always miss the mountains but, as one prairie-dweller is reputed to have said, "We have a beautiful view, because there aren't any mountains to get in the way."
