Hawaii was my world for a while, how wonderful is that?

We are on our way home now -- looking forward to seeing Lindy and happy to have met and made friends with fellow blogger Kay and her husband Art in Honolulu. They picked us up at our hotel near the airport and gave us a wonderful tour of Honolulu hilltops before taking us to a restaurant favored by locals, where we treated them to lunch.
Dick accidentally left his glasses in their car, and weren't we surprised when he was paged at the airport as we waited for our flight to Kauai! Kay gave him his glasses and I hope she gave him a lecture on taking better care of his things, because I know she taught 6-year-olds for quite a few years before retiring and moving back home to Hawaii.
Dick and I then spent a week on the beautiful "garden island" of Kauai, and we loved it. It is a delightful island with many sights, which we enjoyed seeing from a helicopter and also from a catamaran. You can be sure there will be plenty of photos coming, of Kauai and of some other Hawaiian islands we saw when we went on the NCL Hawaii cruise.
Meanwhile, I had prepared posts for most of my favorite memes but I forgot about My World Tuesday! So here I am, better late than never, on the eve of our trip home, posting photos Kay and Art e-mailed us of our visit with them. Thanks again, both of you, we had a wonderful time!

@ Sylvia and Leslie -- thanks, both of you, it will be nice to be home in time for Christmas.
Unfortunately, I was very unwell for most of the trip. Flying out early tomorrow and I'm still not recovered, but getting there very slowly. Oh well, a new chapter for the Unfittie -- "What Happens if I Go but Get Sick?" At least we made new friends before the horrible-awfuls set in, and I found much to enjoy about Hawaii in spite of myself.

How great that you were able to meet a fellow blogger with the name Kay who happens to live in beautiful Hawaii. The temperature differences will take a few days adjustment no doubt. Looking forward to seeing what I’m sure will be fantastic photos of your holiday. How nice of Hawaii Kay to make sure Dick got his glasses!

Oh dear, Kay. You're still sick? I'm so sorry. I hope you'll be recovered in time for Christmas.

You were also here for that thorough drenching we got yesterday. That was pretty amazing after our drought.

We had such a good time meeting you. I really felt like I already knew you. I'll be looking forward to seeing photos of Kauai since we haven't been there in a while.

Please give Dick a big hug for us.

Hawaii is definitely on my "To Do" list -so thank you for your photos - and I'm so sorry you were unwell, that certainly takes the shine off the experience. But hey, like you said when you visited my blog, no excess lbs to lose, eh?! Get well soon.

What a lovely trip, especially when you get to meet a blogging buddy! Good fun for you, except for the getting sick part, and nice that you will be home for Christmas.

Hope you have a wonderful, love-filled holiday celebration. All the best to you and Dick, and of course your furry companions. I'll talk to you again in the New Year...:)
