Must have been a lovely walk. It's interesting to watch the play of light and shade, isn't it?

Kay, you need a good nap before doing this !

HEART-KEEPERS

Shadows in coulees,
Shadows on stones,
Shadows on willows,
Shadows on bones;

Subtle the shadows,
Nature’s dark art;
Nothing but shadows
Can keep my heart.

Lovely photos. Where I live in the UK, Essex, is one of the flattest areas. It is something that we do not think about until we leave the county and start seeing a changing landscape. So hills are something of a novelty for us.xxx

I wonder when that boulder will loose its perch? There's a word for that kind of formation but I don't know it and and have lots of that here too. Beautiful place for a hike/walk!

Interesting rock erosion and don't the rocks cast lovely shadows?

I'd really like to walk around here... nice.

The rocks are full of wonderful colors, and artistic in looks. The shadows leave a lovely signature to these nice formations in the summer...
