Walking in a winter wonderland

Posted for the letter W at ABC Wednesday

The thing I like best about Winter is how Wonderful it looks before the snow has had a chance to melt, how lovely it looks before the sanding trucks and snowplows, and the householders with shovels and snowblowers get out there to mess it all up. It looks particularly lovely on evergreen trees.

The evergreen in the bottom photo (taken after dark, with a flash) is a spreading juniper, three of which are slowly taking over the boulevard between our house and the road. In the photo below, you might just be able to see the outline of my left arm and leg, made when I took a tumble into the snow, and the Worst of my fall was broken by one of the big spreading junipers. I don't go out Walking by myself very much any more, and you can see Why.

I remember singing that song at an elementary Christmas concert. I'm wondering now if we get snow whether Tegan will like it as much as water...I bet she will.

I've always been partial to your posts, especially following the theme so well.

I'm glad the juniper helped break your fall, plus a softer landing in all that snow. Even so, it was lucky you didn't hurt yourself. - Margy

Great photos, Kay. Thank goodness though boughs and snow were there to break your fall. Have a wonderful Christmas season!

You have me humming that song now, Kay! I Worry about you falling although you say the Worst was broken by the boughs and snow. Take care, my dear friend (((Hugs))) Jo

When the sky is blue, I also like snow on the trees (but not on the streets, lol)

The photo looks to me like your booted foot is still in there under the snow. Are you sure you got out completely? We had a very mild Vancouver Island day today when I was out in my sweatshirt bringing in wood...........I had the grace to appreciate it! Though I agree the snow is BEAUTIFUL if one doesnt have to go outdoors!

I fell in the snow, too. The tree branches are hidden, and covered in snow. I'm happy that the snow cushions the falls. You be careful!
