Sigh.
A few lines of this came to me the evening of Friday, the 13th of June, and other lines kept coming, so I am saving it all for Open Link Monday at the Imaginary Garden with Real Toads. I'm hoping I can be back to contributing regularly soon.
I don't believe I have any toad photos from the Galapagos Islands, but I have plenty of other fun creatures.
one foot, two foot
and another one
on the way
marine iguana
land iguana
hadn’t much to say
and nazca booby
turned his head away
sea urchins large
and sea urchins small
they neither lurch nor sway
and sea lions
I love them both
this lonely fellow
perhaps the most
hello can your husband come out to play?
no we can look but we cannot stay
moonscape with frigate bird
ship’s mast with more
and then on the shore
birds and animals galore
flightless cormorants and more
Darwin’s delight
a finch upside down
and one upside right
about which science
for long years would fight
and last but not least
no not least at all
the galapagos tortoise
the oldest of all

Sigh! I would love to visit the Galapagos Islands. Thanks for sharing your words and pics with us Kay.
Lovely pictures and rhymes to go with them. I enjoyed both soooo much.
This would make a great children's book, rhymes and photos and all!
Love the picture trip you brought us on.. yes a true delight to read...
oooh i love this so much, Kay! the cormorant is my special favorite. love your rhymes. just love it.
This made me smile. I agree with Susan - this shrieks children's book -words and photos - perfect! There is a huge market for good children's books, Kay.
I too thought how clever and fun for a children's book! Kay, do it..it would be fabulous~ ((hugs))
Very nice, Kay. That place we probably won't get down to visit. A few have to get scratched off the list.
Your piece reminds me of the post I made on May 30th, it was a sketch for Margaret's "Sketch Book Challenge" where I narrated and showed what could be seen from our London balcony and then from the Vauxhall Bridge over the Thames.

That first photo looked like pterodactyls. I would love to go to the Galapagos, but I don't know when that will be.
I'm not much for traveling far away and for long periods of time, but this is one destination that I think would be well worth it. - Margy
