These geese seem to be getting ready to go to church on a soft, surreal, misty morning. |
"Okay, whose is whose? Which are my ducklings and which ones belong to the mallards?" |
We hardly ever see a herd of herons in a field, so maybe they're having an election for Head Heron. Photos by Richard Schear and Kay Davies |

Great capture, love the ducks and ducklings and the field of herons. It is cool to see so many herons.
Fun shots and I love your commentary! Happy Critter Day!
I always used to be amazed by Canada Geese in Europe. Were there any?? Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Churches in the background are such a familiar scene in Holland (The Netherlands). Brings back memories.
What wonderful shots, Kay. I think my favourite is of the ducks but your first photo is elegiac and the third is impressive. Okay, I love them all:-)
They are all so fun to look at!
My Camera Critters
It appears to be a perfect landscape and environment for those animals. Picturesque, too.
lovely photos! the herons are beautiful.
Beautiful shots Kay.
That's a LOT of herons, Kay! And the top image really captures a foggy morning in the lowlands.
They look so funny !
Ha, ha on the Head Heron. They always look so stern when you come upon them in the fields. I feel as though I've stumbled into some secret Masonic rite :-)
Lovely shot!
Thanks for dropping by
