Pet Pride: Lindy's not so proud of her mom

Lindy's dad walks her every day.
Today is another beautiful day,
but Lindy's daddy is still away.
while Lindy's mom has "sore feet"
(no, Lindy, it isn't something to eat)
so instead of roaming wide and far
on foot, they ride out in the car.
It's fun to go to the hardware store
where Lindy gets a treat and more
petting fussing and oohing and gooing,
but Lindy would really like to be doing
more walking, please, Mom.
Please, Mom? Please?
Out and about amongst the trees
or down at the coulee among the rocks
instead of home with boring old talks.

Lindy says, "Hi, Bozo, I can sure understand you wanting to go for a walk. I want to go for a walk, too, but my mom says she can't do it again today."

Awww... poor Lindy and poor you, Kay. I'm sorry your feet are bothering you. I wish you could both go for a walk.

Poor Lindy, Mum just can’t do it.
But treats are good too, aren’t they?

Millie had only a little walk today because there were too many people around in the castle and her mum didn’t feel like going far either.

I am sorry to hear you can't take Lindy out for a lovely walk in the coulee. I hope you will feel better soon!

Lindy, Jasmine feels your pain. We didnt walk today either - I'm too tired and there's a heat wave - and the other three dogs got to go for a swim. NO FAIR, says Jasmine and she is right, it isnt. Soon, Jasmine! Promise!

Oh dear Lindy - you need a friendly neighbour-kid who's willing to do dog-walking for pocket money - or even just for the joy!! I had one of those for Jade when I was working too many shifts at one stage. Made a big difference to both our lives. Will dad be back soon? Hugs and Wags, YAM-aunty xx

Lindy you should come to Charlie on holidays ! He suffers because his human loves hiking and walking so much, that he sometimes just sits down and doesn't move anymore. She can pull at he leash as long as she wants too, Charly when he has enough is a very stubborn dog !

I'm sure Lindy is understanding. But walkies are important. We brought Mom's cat to Powell River for us. This is the first trip without Mom, but he seems to doing pretty good without her. Tomorrow he gets to go up to the cabin with us after two and a half years staying in town with her. I am sure he will enjoy the bit of freedom the float around the cabin will give him. In Bellingham he was an indoor only kitty. - Margy
