Crime and a mystery on Camera Critters

I never thought it would come to this. Theft and deception. A career in crime, starting at my age.
Thanks to the owner of this photo,
whoever and wherever you are!
I have had this photo sitting on my desktop for about a week, because I think it is so cute. I snaffled it from Facebook, where someone, I don't remember who, had posted it.
Now here I am, posting a stolen picture, with no real credit line, to Camera Critters. My husband did get some bird photos yesterday while walking Lindy, but I had a hard time getting them from him, because he couldn't find the card-reader.
Sigh.

Lindy is always happy
to see deer.
Some boys on motorbikes frightened
these deer in the lane behind our house.
Red-winged Blackbird, seen during Lindy's walk with her daddy
And last but not least we have, below, our mystery bird. It is facing away from Dick, turning its head around in order to keep an eye on him, so it's not a great shot for identification.
Some day, after he's been a member of the Grassland Naturalists for a while, Dick will be able to identify all the local birds for me, but so far this one remains a mystery...

Mysterious bird with brown and beige body, yellow throat and yellow eyebrows. Likes to try to read identification signs for Prickly Pear Cactus which other birds have already vandalized.

The last bird looks like some kind of thrush. I'm not sure if you have them up your way.

Excellent pictures Kaye! The one you "stole" is adorable.

Lindy is such a good dog for not chasing the deer!

I love to hear the call of a red-winged blackbird. It always reminds me of visiting my grandmother in Northern California. We've seen a Baltimore Oriole at my Mom's bird feeder in Bellingham for a week now. I think it is pretty rare in our area, but haven't been able to get a picture yet. - Margy

So adore the first photo - stolen or not! And Lindy looks beautiful as always! And both birds are delightful!

What great shots. And I love Lindy's sweet face.

Never too late to start a new career, and who knows maybe crime does pay. Lots of people seem to think so.

hhmmm - being a bit of a 'twitcher' I am rather thinking you may have snapped a Canadian Horned Lark - scrubland is their habitat and that long, sharp back claw is a bit of a give-away. Do you recall seeing any black 'bib'?

Lindy has a lovely smile! YAM xx

Lovely photos. I'm not surprised you couldn't resist filching the first one - it's delightful. I wonder if the mystery bird is some sort of hawk.

I love the pilfered photo of the cat and the duck together. Lindy saw some pretty birds. The last one looks like a Meadowlark.
