Scenes as I've seen 'em

above, Tiananmen Square, Beijing, China

above, rainy day in Alaska

above, taken from a panga in the Galapagos Islands

above, in the Galapagos Islands

above, on the Pacific Coast of Mexico's Baja Peninsula

above, in Costa Rica

above, in Tenerife, Canary Islands

above, marine iguanas inland, Galapagos Islands

above, the jungle, Costa Rica

above, Galapagos Islands

above, specially bred sled dogs, and Dick, in Whitehorse, Yukon

Almost invariably, when we travel, Dick sees the scenery and I see Dick's back. Never content to walk beside me, seldom remembering to offer me his arm or his hand, my big, strong, healthy husband is usually walking some steps ahead of me: sometimes a few steps, sometimes a great many steps. So I'm working on a chapter for An Unfittie's Guide to Adventurous Travel entitled: "The back of Dick's back"!

My favorite is the last photo with the puffy white cloud formations against the bright blue sky with one tree standing tall. Enlarging the photo I see one sled dog not jumping but rather resting over a barrel. The sandy ground is a nice contrast. Could be Skywatch Friday material … something I plan to learn more about.

They were darlin' dogs, ever so friendly. They aren't on any guided tour, but we have friends in Whitehorse who took us to meet them. What fun, a field full of friendly dogs.
Every now and then you see a very tall tree, but most don't grow too tall because of the short Yukon summers. I looked at the picture again, but can't tell if that's the tree on which we saw an eagle. It was perched right up on the very top, but we didn't get any good pictures of it. Too bad.
