Book Blurb Friday: graffitists defeated

Each week, Lisa Ricard Claro features Book Blurb Friday on her blog, Writing in the Buff. She posts a picture (this week by her husband Joseph Claro) which we are to imagine as the cover of a book. Of course, then we have to imagine a plot for the book (that's the hard part) and write a blurb of 150 words or less to convince browsers to become buyers. That's not always so easy, either.

Ghost Cruiser

Todd Sawyer and his sisters were hanging over the side of the canal, writing “Grad 2011” with paint brushes on the wall above the water, when a policeman approached and said, “Well, well, well, what have we here?”

They tried to jump up to explain, but Todd tripped over the paint can and fell into the canal. Tawna and Tanya jumped in to save him.

After being pulled from the water, the three were led to a car the uniformed policeman called his “ghost cruiser” and taken to a place he called a “safe house”.

They were safe.  They were given towels, and big shirts to wear while their clothes tumbled in the dryer, and then they left, the “officer” waving goodbye.

But he wasn’t a policeman. No such car existed. The house had been unoccupied for years. Who, then, had frightened, and rescued, the Sawyer triplets? An actual ghost?
