For shame, I've been gone too long

I promised Winnie and the cats at the blog The Chair Speaks that I would stop procrastinating and post this photo to my own blog.
It was taken after our dog Lindy had surgery last year. In fact, the photo is of Lindy napping with her mommy on New Year's Eve, 2014, so you can see how active we are around here (not very).
Thanks, Winnie, for the nudge into action.
And for those who know Lindy, she recovered wonderfully well and now, although not as active as she used to be, she is a happy, happy dog.

Richard Schear, photo
Just yesterday, we went to one of Lindy's favourite stores. She isn't allowed past the grocery-cart lobby at Costco, so she waits there with one of us while the other one shops. While I was sitting with her, she met a lovely little 7-month-old baby who had just started walking. She walked right up to Lindy, and received a dog-kiss, which thrilled her.
Lindy can't see any more, but she knows when someone is nearby, and is especially fond of young children. She sits still while they pat her, pet her, and hug her. She's a darlin' old girl, for sure.

Well I for one give big thanks to Winnie for getting you out of hiding! To have Lindy in the post gives an exponential x 4 of the joy I had at seeing you both. What good news that wellness and happiness preside! Big huggies and waggles, YAM xxx

Sounds like a happy trusting dog.

Thank you for visiting us and your link to our blog.
Our human understands that caring for a geriatric 'family member' is time consuming and never easy.
We're happy that you, Lindy, still get to go outdoors (with such loving care) but sad to know uou're blind.
Our Pebble is totally blind, on diapers, can't walk but still soldiering on.
Sending tons of purrs and headbutts to you, Lindy, your ma and pa!
Be brave! Soldier on!

Oh Kay... I'm sorry for the pain that Lindy has been going through as well as the loss of her eye sight. I'm glad she is able to find comfort in your love and care. Please give her a gentle hug for us.

I was just thinking of you the other day, and thought I'd check in. So glad to know you still have your darling Lindy with you, and that her surgery went well. We have a cat now - still miss our dear puppy Ladybug, but it's nice to have a furry friend in the house again. Sending all good wishes your way and a hug and kiss for Lindy!

It's good to know Lindy is back doing well. It must be tough to not be able to see, but I'm sure around home in familiar territory it's easier. I've been off the Internet for blogging purposes most of the summer. We've really enjoyed some lovely weather up at the cabin, and now a bit of rain has helped the drought and lake level. - Margy

I'm taking a blog break right now too. I've been gone to the mainland for the last 5 weeks and brought back a terrible cold. No fun. I'm so happy to see a photo of you and Lindy together. I'm glad she's doing well now even though she's unable to see. She knows you're there with her always.

Poor Lindy, I have a friend who lose her eye sight too. She is a doggie same as you, Lindy.
She is just getting old and she couldn't hear as well. Lot of time, her mom have to yell @ her so she can hear. She got lots of love from her parents too. I met her twice. I think she is doing pretty good and happy. I'm so sure you do too Lindy.

Lots of love
