Skywatch Friday: golden dome
As the sun was setting over the Pacific to the west, this patch of gold appeared in the eastern sky, illuminating the trees and casting warmth across the South Surrey suburb of Ocean Park when I was visiting last month.
It was so beautiful, I took one photo, and my sister-in-law Caroline used my camera to take another. I don't know which of us took this one. I know Caroline saw that the sun was setting, and told me about it. She is an observant person who loves the natural world around her, and teaches young children about it several times a week.

A nice capture of the elusive sun in these parts. Soon spring will be here, yeah!
Beautiful. I cannot imagine having a job like your sister-in-law - getting paid to teach others about something you love and are passionate about.
Sigh. Maybe one day.
That is my very favorite time of day, when the setting sun turns the trees to amber and gold........lovely, Kay!
Such a lovely home scenery. Great view!
Oh my, Kay, I can hardly believe that just a few hours away to the West there is no snow!!!!!
Hope you have a wonderful and relaxing ocean voyage. Will look forward to your great travel pictures.
I love it when you have a camera available to catch these lovely moments.
no more snow? I remember in Windsor, wiinter was worst in Feb, sluch and mud.
where is the snow? Feb was worst when I was there, slush and mud.
Very peaceful looking.
Nice shot! When the sun casts its light over the horizon in this way it warms the heart.
Well done! I love catching light like that.
