Larger than a Shetland but smaller than a quarter horse, Icelandics are pleasant, patient, and purebred... the government has laws against importation of any other breed to this small island nation.
I now have a Facebook friend in southern Alberta who has a ranch for Icelandic horses near the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. I've told her not to be surprised if I suddenly show up for some horse hugs.
Posted for Camera Critters, hosted by Misty Dawn. Thanks, Misty. Hugs to you, too, and a special hug for your baby.
Also posted for Pet Pride, hosted by the Pets Forever blog in Mumbai, India. Thank you, and a wag and a happy "woof" from Lindy to Bozo.

I can imagine the good vibes.
ReplyDeleteSweet horse, wonderful photos. Have a happy weekend!

ReplyDeleteThey are appealing - you could use that old fashioned trick of climbing on from a 'mounting block'. I'd be snoozing in that spring sunshine too! YAM xx
They are adorable, Kay!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute horse, waiting patiently. I do like horses, although I never went through a real horse phase as so many girls did (and still do, I imagine).
ReplyDeleteOh Kay, I should visit Iceland or your friend's ranch to try and bond with these dear horses. Although I love all animals, including horses, I was always and still am afraid of horses. This didn't stop me in the mid-nineties though, to ride a huge stallion for 43kms across the Free State maize fields in a fun ride! Hope you, Dick and dear Lindy are doing well and having a great weekend. Jo xxx
ReplyDeleteI have never been too close to horses either, but these look really friendly!
ReplyDeleteI love horses and love the shots, they look so sweet natured.
ReplyDeleteI love our neighbour's horses!
