The sun shining through the clouds showed autumn colors in the coulee while my husband walked our dog Lindy on Canadian Thanksgiving Day. Although we lack the big oaks and maples the eastern part of the country has, we do enjoy our fall display of color.

It is wonderful to see the beautiful autumn colors beginning to appear almost everywhere!! Lovely captures, Kay! Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely landscape, although if it happened here will be very dangerous during typhoons and rains. Are they the remnants of mining activities or just normal contours?
ReplyDeleteLove the sky and landscape with the rows of trees!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful the way you have captured the sun shining through the clouds!
ReplyDeletehappy thanksgiving day.

@ Andrea — the coulees (below the level of the prairie) were carved by long-ago rivers and streams, feeding into a large river nearby.
ReplyDeleteWhen there is a lot of rain, flash floods might carve the coulee deeper into the soil below the prairie.

The coulees make the photos so interesting. You caught the shadows that give them texture. Nice!
ReplyDeleteWe'll take our Alberta yellows wherever we can Kay! Lovely shots.
ReplyDeleteAmazing photos! Crepuscular clouds! WOW!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery sweeping and grand. I have to wonder, is it wise to build in an area that looks like it could be washed away in a flood?
ReplyDeleteThere's not much color in the Midwest right now. I wonder why. I love your beautiful photos. Please congratulate Dick for me. Happy Thanksgiving, Kay, Dick and Lindy!
ReplyDeletethe trees look so tiny!
