Mellow Yellow food found in Moscow!

Yellow is one of the most popular colors in Russia. Many buildings, large and small, old and new, are yellow. My husband also discovered there's a lot of yellow food in Moscow. Here are a few yellows he found during our August holiday with Viking River Cruises.

Sometimes a little bit of yellow:

Sometimes a lot of yellow! There are so many delicious stores in the old GUM department store building. It is now yum yum GUM!

  1. The food displays look very nice. When I was in Prague, I loved the yellow of many buildings. I imagine it is similar in Russia.

  4. I guess when you stop and look around yellow is a very common colour. I just took a quick scan of my computer room and never realized there were so many yellow objects.

  9. Looks good -- I love markets. Somehow, I would never have thought of yellow being so popular in Russia -- but now I'm thinking of those red and yellow nesting dolls. And are those candies wrapped to look like them? The fruit looks very good.

  10. Yellow is such a cheerful color! I shouldn't have looked at your post at noon. We're waiting for roofers here so I can't have lunch yet, but your post has made me so hungry, I need to go get a snack.

  11. Such artistry! Are the fruits real, or marzipan?

  12. That is a very interesting observation on Russia that not many people know Kay. Maybe they switched from favouring red foods to something a little more liberal? Did you see any good old Bird's custard, now there's a real food.
