Camera Critter: dog at the ship

"This looks like a nice ship. Viking Surkov, it says."

"Permission to come aboard, sir?"

"Oh, well, I'll just wait here until my friends come ashore, thank you, sir."

This friendly yellow labrador came down to meet our ship near Kuzino, Russia, where my husband and other passengers were going ashore to visit the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery. Not of a particularly monastic nature himself, this dog liked to visit the Surkov in case there happened to be a crew member with food coming ashore. Big yellow dogs are among my favorite sights anywhere I go, and I enjoyed meeting this well-behaved fellow on our Russian trip with Viking River Cruises. Even though I didn't take food ashore, he was very polite to me.

    He's so very handsome. And by the looks of it, he eats a lot of seafood!! Well fed, that is.

    How I love Labradors too, Kay. We have a lovely black girl called Angie back home in SA. Did you show Lindy this post? Imagine if she thinks you took another dog on your trip while she stayed home! lol! Have a great weekend. (((hugs))) Jo
