I've been to Hawaii several time and loved it a lot. One trip we rented an airplane and got to fly to several islands on our own. That was the best trip. - Margy
The lovely shadows do not jump at us, yet the slight shadows show up between each and every rock. The rough hewn landscape near the sea is rugged - and really beautiful!
I guess all those rocks are as a result of the volcanic nature of the Hawaiian Islands. I must get some back copies of NG and read up. When do the Russian images start? Can't be long now ...

ReplyDeleteI'll just walk into your top photo and go for a swim, okay, Kay? :-)
ReplyDeleteThose stones would be great for exploring (and chasing shadows), but rather brutal on bare feet!
ReplyDeleteIF I HAD A SHADOW
If I had a shadow as big as the sky,
I never would fear, and I’ll tell you why:
My shadow would save me from dragons and things
That fly in the night with terrible wings;
My shadow would keep me away from the beast
That sniffs in the west and sniffs in the east,
Hungry for children who play all alone,
Hoping to feast upon blood, upon bone;
My shadow would be my protector and knight
To keep fear at bay, to banish all fright.
I’m so glad my shadow is always nearby,
Though it’s not nearly as big as the sky!
