Sur le Pont d'Avignon

On the bridge, Avignon,
people dance there, people dance there,

Under bridge, Avignon,
people row there, people row there,

On the streets, Avignon,
people drive there, people ride there,

Carousel, Avignon,
children sing there, children laugh there,

In the square, Avignon,
El'phants dance there, el'phants dance there,

Note: This is a fun video, do watch and listen!

Sur le pont d'Avignon,
On y danse, on y danse,
Sur le pont d'Avignon,
On y danse tous en rond.

  6. Oh drats, the video is blocked here! But your photos of Avignon bring forth a flood of good memories. My parents lived very close to there. I don't recall seeing the dancing elephant, so that must be rather new. Superb S post, Kay!

  10. Ah now ... I was in Avignon in October of 2008, and that elephant surely was not there at that time. It is a lovely city and I spent hours over a number of days traipsing between the bridge and the square out the front of the Papes Palace. Nice memories ...

  13. Oh, that dancing elephant is wonderful!
    And I want that t-shirt!!
I had a record of chansons francaises that I practically wore out (probably wore out my poor mother as well!) and this one was one of my favourites.

  20. That's a wonderful set of photos of this beautiful bridge and town. I must confess that I have never been there even though my whole family was there . My husband and son were there camping with my sister and her family and I stayed here at home studying for my examination English which was to be in September. Well may be I can see it another time. Thanks for your visit. Have a great rest of the week Kay!

  34. I was in Avignon for a day years ago and saw young people in costume dancing in the streets! I don't recall that elephant sculpture, though. It's such a beautiful city and one I'd like to revisit.
By the way, it was my second time in Skagway, too. This was my 3rd (and probably last) Alaska cruise.
