Mellow yellows in Carcassonne, France

© Photos by Kay Davies and Richard Schear

It's not too late to attend the Festival of Carcassonne, June 16 to August 15. Maybe you'll get to watch Madame Butterfly, listen to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, or even see the Beach Boys, it says here.

Posted for  Mellow Yellow Monday, hosted every week by
Drowsey Monkey. Thanks, Drowsey!

  10. I've been to Carcassone three times. It is such an amazing, fairy tale place. I've always wanted to stay a couple of nights within its walls but I still haven't been able to do that.

  22. I spent a week in Carcassonne last September, Kay. I liked the square layout of the streets, and the way the council could manipulate the traffic. I have so many shots of architectural detail that I have simply never shown. Takes a while to work up a post.

How did Lindy get into this shot?

  23. @ Julie — Oh, I wish Lindy had been with us in France. We missed her so much. When Dick went to explore the walled city, I was too tired to climb any further, so I stayed at a handy outdoor cafe, which happened to have a lovely Yellow Labrador Retriever spending the afternoon there, too. Took some of the edge off missing our golden girl.
