Seeing skies and things with Captain Andy of Kauai

Photos by Kay Davies

We saw beautiful skies, we saw a school of dolphins, and we saw some flying objects. Is the object in the first photo the same as the one in the second or third? Or is it something else entirely? We might never know.
Nevertheless, it was an interesting morning aboard one of the catamarans from Captain Andy on the island of Kauai, Hawaii, in December. Dick had fun snorkeling, we both enjoyed a delicious breakfast and later an equally delectable lunch, and I even succumbed to a little nap, lulled to sleep by the boat's soothing motion on the smooth blue sea.

  1. I think aliens have taken to those mini planes because, let's face it, they're more fun and no fighter jets will target you. Lovely pictures.

  7. Great skies, Kay. I find regional differences in English very interesting. In Australia, 'inner city suburbs' is what we call the suburbs immediately outside the central business district which we also refer to as 'the city'.

  23. I think sailing skies are always the best, Kay! Your great pictures and commentary made it easy to smell that sea air..to feel the heat of the sun and the lap of the water...very nice. I would have been going crazy with my camera tying to get as many dolphin pictures as I could!

  24. Your delectable photos make me more eager than ever to go to our island state. (I have a trip scheduled for late May, and can hardly wait!)

    WHICH SKY FOR YOU?

    Which sky for you?
    One that is blue?
    Or do you prefer
    A sky that’s demure?

    A sky in grey
    Is soft, they say,
    And not everyone
    Likes the blinding sun.

    Perhaps a sky
    Through which geese fly
    To winter havens
    Away from ravens?

    A rain-swept sky
    That seems to cry?
    O quickly choose one
    Before day is done!

  25. You didn't go snorkeling? I have never been because my husband has a perforated ear.

That coffin in my post was my son Andrew's. I couldn't down load Baxtor's from the newspaper.
