My world, with antelope

This is where the deer and the antelope play (although I've never seen them play together). I've seen our dog Lindy want to play with them, but my husband Dick hasn't allowed it so far, and I hope he never does. These wild and pretty Pronghorn Antelope can run very, very fast!
Today's photos were taken on Sunday at an off-leash dog-walking area on the north side of the city of Medicine Hat, Alberta. The antelope were grazing near the walking path, and moved when Dick and Lindy got too close, but didn't run, merely trotted away as if unconcerned.
On the horizon, in the first photo, you can see a blue line -- those are the Cypress Hills, on the border of Alberta and Saskatchewan.
I like the last two photos because they show the grandstand at the baseball park. When I first lived in Medicine Hat, the rookie league team for the Toronto Blue Jays played here. I wish they still did!

    These are wonderful scenes, Kay. I didn’t realize that the antelope were so prevalent in the area. Looks like they are not the least bit shy. And so nice that they now play near where the rookie league team for the Toronto Blue Jays once played. :)

    Such wide open spaces! & how amazing to be able to observe the wildlife so closely. The antelope are beautiful & so is the landscape.

    Too beautiful, Kay. The deer are not at all skittish are they? I love the name of your town/city. Grant says many old Westerns (movies and books) mention Medicine Hat. Beautiful. Have a blessed day and hugs to you all, not forgetting dearest Lindy. Jo

    I envy you for the fact that you can see wildlife at such close quarters. You won't find such big animals in my country. You will see a lot of waterfowl like ducks, geese ,swans and coots. Have a nice Tuesday!

    I'm glad you shared more antelope photos, Kay...I love these guys! We certainly don't see anything quite so interesting in our dog parks here!

    And I like your combination of nature study and travelogue. I've seen only a little of Alberta, so I thoroughly enjoy the pictures you post...:)

    I love that you have this herd so close to town. Beautiful sky views -- this series shows me why you live where you do ;> it's really beautiful and I can see how you could think putting up with the snow and more snow is worth it.

    Well how cool is this! I just love taking pictures of wildlife, but they are few and far inbetween in Vegas. Though I have gotten some great shots of the Desert Big Horn sheep that come down from the hills in Boulder City to munch on the green grass in the city park!
