| I was delighted to swim with dolphins in the Dominican Republic in 2004. We've since found out how many dolphins are killed at places like this (not necessarily this one) if judged unsuitable for training, and we've decided not to participate in dolphin swims except in the open ocean when dolphins are there voluntarily. |

It's very sad to read about the 'unsuitable' dolphins being killed. After all, they don't apply for the position of companion swimmer. Must have been fun, though.

ReplyDeleteOh, yes, that's me in the lifejacket that kept riding up above my ears! I also swam out and had two dolphins carry me back to the dock. Somewhat scary, but lots of fun.

ReplyDeleteI love dolphins, they have such beautiful faces. When we cross the North Sea we usually get a school of dolphins join us and watching them play in the wake of the yacht is wonderful xxx

That must have quite the experience to swim with the dolphins though. I'll keep your words in mind should I ever come across a place like this and opt out of doing it myself.
