Q is for the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico

On our way from Cancun to Isla Mujeres, in Quintana Roo, Mexico.

I'm glad I didn't go to Tulum. Too many stairs, and I was very tired that day.

At Puerto Morelos, the water changed color constantly as the clouds moved.

No, this isn't Dick windsurfing, but I bet he could.

So glad to see we were staying at a resort with crocodiles. Ha, just baby ones!

I watched this bird for a long time, but I don't know what kind it is.

    Wow nice take on the letter Q. The beach in Mexico looks exquisite, and the weather is a far cry from what we're headed for here up North!
    & that deer from your Tuesday post sure looks big too - nice catch for being taken by surprise.

    Back in the 80s we flew our Piper Arrow to Cancun from Los Angeles. It was a fabulous trip with lots of things to see and experience. I remember flying over the jungles and seeing pyramids hidden in their depths. We landed at Chitzen Itza and did the tour. An amazing place, but I passed on climbing to the top. I can fly a plane, but I am afraid of heights. Go figure. - Margy

    That looks like a lovely place to vacation. Your post reminded me of a story my dad used to tell. He said when he was a baby in Florida his parents kept an aligator in the bath tub and that was why he didn't like water.

    Catching up -- had misssed this and your last three posts. Wonderful each one! I never know what adventure you will share with us -- and I love that! This one looks like a great trip -- those stairs down to the beach are fabulous.

    Your yellow mosaic is bright and cheerful and just what I need these days.

    You live in a lovely world anyway -- and the deer what a nice added touch.

    Great choice for the letter Q! I ended my one month journey through Mexico just south of Tulum, next to the amazing and unique Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve.

    Yes, but baby crocodiles do grow up! I wouldn't want to be near then.

    That staircase looks like a right killer to me! I wouldn't like to climb those either.

    Tulum does have far too many stairs but its the only way to see some of the sights. Great photos. Not sure about the crocs. though.

    @ Roger -- Really? My parents spent some 25 winters in a little shrimp-fishing village (now a tourist town) in Baja Norte. I visited them as often as I could, being a dutiful daughter and wishing also to escape winter in Canada. I love Baja.

    Thank you for the virtual tour along the beach on a warm and sunny day, while here in my country the wind is blowing and the weather forecast was not very promising either. Tomorrow we will expect a gale and buckets of rain!!

    Two iguanas and totally fearless they are! What a capture! Dick just chatting away with them. And that blue... I want to DIVE IN NOW! Quinana Roo... good Q post!

    [On mine, I answered you: I'm not sure what you found, but no, the only Ganzhou I know is what I call a "county" - but the Chinese call city (prefecture level) - in the southwest Jiangxi province close to the coast. Look up Lanzhou (the capital), Gansu, to find it on the map. It's on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau. There are no alternate spellings for Chinese in Pinyin, which is all I use. :-) ]
