Clouds, nests, and fog in Alaska sky

Watercraft of all sizes beneath a cloudy blue Alaskan sky.

This looks like an eagle's nest built high atop an Alaskan evergreen tree.

The big land of Alaska looks small here, between sky and sea.

Alaskan mountains shrouded in cloud.

Fog seeps down into the harbor, but cruise ships come and go.

  1. Ah, gray and grumpy skies! They do look familiar as they have invaded Seattle and the raindrops are beginning to fall! Terrific photos though, as always. You really capture the feeling of the fog, the water and skies! Marvelous! Hope you have a great weekend, Kay!

  7. In spite of the gray shades, those skies are beautiful especially how they play off the water. They really have a lot of depth too. Enjoy skywatching...

  8. How pretty to see the different shades of the Alaskan skies!

The fog is creeping low, I hope there is good visibility for the ships.

  16. Fabulous shots, Kay. Even under grey clouds the land looks magnificent. The sky and the sea are so immense - they really put us puny humans in perspective.

  29. Want to go together, EG? Fog does add mood to a place. And I'm fine with it as long as it doesn't stretch into weeks and months as it sometimes can do in the PNW.
