Camera Critters: sea lions in Ensenada

A few are dozing.

Then a few more.
One goes for a swim.

Everyone joins in.

Guess that just leaves me up here!

Photos by Richard Schear at the cruise ship wharf in Ensenada.

  1. Great !! I'm crazy about sea lions or seals, or otters. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

  2. I bet I wouldn't even recognize Ensenada. It was such a fun little town back in the 70's. - Margy

  3. Love your photos, were they noisy? I love seals, they are such fun animals to look at and be around. I don't get the chance that often so I make the most of it when I do.

  4. When my daughter lived right on the harbour in Ucluelet, there was a HUGE sea lion living on the dock down below who barked all the time...my wolf-dog and he had many persistent conversations!

  5. Reminds me of the many sea lions at 'Frisco's Fisherman's Wharf many years ago. Wonder if they are still there!. Great pics Kay!

  6. Oh, what great shots! Love the expression on the face of the seal left behind...

  7. Say ensenada and I think of a Filipino bun. Had to reorient my mind to think Mexico. These sea lions can make a good level of noise... and be unpleasant for the nose when too close. Otherwise they are delightful to watch. Did you see them too, Kay?

  8. Hey, I think I recognize some of these guys! Don't you just love Ensenada? We've been there several times and have met some of the nicest folks.

  9. @ Francisca — oh, yes, I saw them, and heard them, from our balcony, but with the balcony door closed, they weren't loud at all. I took a few shots of them myself, too.
