Z is for Zebras, Zip-lining, and, of course, Zoo

Z in the sky here in Alberta

Z is for Zip-lining, which Dick tried in Jamaica a few years ago. I did not try it. I didn't even watch him trying it. The instructor took this photo of Dick looking somewhat dubious, while I was miles away doing something much safer.

And Z is for Zoo, a subject about which I could go on and on and on!!

In the top photo are some Zebras dining at the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park, now known as the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

Below, we have more Zebras, shown with their friends at the Zoo at Busch Gardens in Florida.

Hosted today by Mrs. Nesbitt her very self. Thanks, Denise!

  1. I'd like to try zip-lining, but I think my bad back precludes it - that's my excuse and I'm sticking by it. (Actually, I'm afraid they'll ask for my "real" weight.) lol

  2. Kay, you sound like me. I try to avoid dangers, especially when on holiday :-))

  3. Zip lining is not for me and the more so now that I watched yesterday this Australian girl whose line broke and she fell into the rushing waters – was OK though.

  7. Great z words and shots. Dick does look like he is focusing very strenuously on the task at hand. Good for him to give it a go.

  8. I zipped for the first time with my daughter across Whistler Mountain. I was scared out of my skin the first two stations, but after that I had an absolute blast. The views were breathtaking, and I was so happy I was able to overcome my fears. (My husband and other two kids refused to go!)

  12. That Zip lining is for dare devils. He is a brave soul. The zebras look terrific in their pyjamas.

  17. Grant and I did Zip-lining - called Canopy Tours in SA- in a forest in 2008. We both thoroughly enjoyed it and have photos too. (I should do a post on it sometime,- I'd forgotten about this until now, ha-ha!) Re the zebras. I have a post on zebras tomorrow. Your zebra's stripes look totally different to the ones I photographed on safari. Much denser than ours. Was Lindy glad to have her mum and dad back? (((Hugs))) Jo

  21. I'd be right there with Dick! Jeez, until today I'd never heard of ziplining, and now I see it twice! I just came from blogger Shooting Parrot's blog where he posted a video with himself ziplining. Gotta try it one day... Zebras are always nice too!
