ReplyDeleteWell it seems that you have certainly captured all the Gold domes around. Great photos. Lovely detail.
ReplyDeleteSome of these look as if they've been made with icing sugar! Fantastic colours.

ReplyDeleteAre these more of your wonderful travels, Kay? Such exotic and gorgeous domes.

@ Hildred and Charles — you're right, I didn't specify. Yes, we took these photos during our cruise on Russian waterways from St. Petersburg to Moscow this month.

What a fantastic collection! These rich decorations are so unique in our western world. These buildings can only be found in Russia!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kay for treating us to these photos.
Hi Kay. At the start I didn't know your post was about St Petersburg but after a couple of your super shots I thought it must be since I knew you had been to Russia and that St Petersburg is renowned for architecture and its domes. I guess you must have captured the essence of yet another place in the world. how are you going to capture the essence of Knott End?
ReplyDeleteGreat shots - very impressive buildings - you must have had a great time taking those pics - Jane
ReplyDeleteGlorious architecture from your travels. I enjoyed these photographs very much.
ReplyDeleteSuper attractions to visit, a pity you didn't have a bleu sky.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Filip
Amazing the money that has been spent over the ages on qilding domes! They sure are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOmw, Kay they are beautiful! Thanks for your continued visits to my blog. Hugs to you all including dear Lindy. Blessings, Jo

Wow, this is fantastic! Gorgeous photos of stunning golden domes. How lucky are you to have seen them.
ReplyDeleteGold color, gold paint always looks stunning. Much so if it is the real gold it's very expensive now ^_^

Ornate seems mild as a description of these domes. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMagnificent photos and buildings. For a country that is supposed not to be religious they certainly have a lot of religious looking buildings and many with crosses on. There's something skewed about the buildings being such an attraction but their root purpose being less than acceptable.
ReplyDeleteOpulence and great architecture!
ReplyDeleteThat must be terrible to see that life ! Looks already so beautiful on pictures !
ReplyDeleteWonderful concept and lovely array of photos.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots and gorgeous architecture!
ReplyDeleteG is for...
Beautiful photos - those domes are spectacular.
ReplyDeleteGlorious gold and stellar domes. Superb photos!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen photos of Moscow showing blue skies! You've clearly brought out the best in moscow!
ReplyDeleteThe domes are all amazing, I can't pick a favorite. I would have used up most of my available memory just taking photos of the golden domes.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and so Russian! Great shots!
ReplyDeletesometimes it's hard to believe that these beautiful places are real. even harder to believe that these architectural wonders were achieved, so very long ago...
ReplyDeleteI can't believe there are so many golden domes! Gorgeous buildings tho - great shots!
