Shadows and ice cream


Even though it was only March, when the sun came out, the ice cream sellers started doing business in the town of Arnhem, in The Netherlands. My husband got this photo of a group of youngsters (below) in warm jackets sitting on a wall with their ice cream cones.      © Photo by Richard Schear, March, 2011

    At the end of the winter, when we are all really tired of it, a day with long shadows under a strong sun is very welcome. Therefore, the wish for warmer weather can be satisfied by a seasonal treat. Ice cream will quite nicely!

    A gorgeous lineup of shadows! And love the icecream street feature! It is very similar to one we have in the main street of Sorrento on the southern end of the peninsula! It is there through the seasons!

    Great shadows and photos. I read once, more ice cream is eaten during the colder season. Doesn't seem like that would be true, but who knows, they may be wishing for summer. :)

    Lovely shadows. The children seem to be enjoying their ice cream while casting their shadows on the bricked walkway, along with the adults and the bike. Nice!!
