The artist Henri Matisse found much inspiration in the beautiful seaside town in Collioure, France, near the Spanish border. When we visited in April, 2011, we were enchanted by the light and color, just as he was. The sky offered a wide range of blues, from misty pale, to deepest blue reflected in the sea.

ReplyDeleteYes, I can see him here, especially in that third photo, with the harbor and the pretty blue boat. I'm fond of Matisse's paintings, and how wonderful it must have been to visit one of the places where he actually painted them!
