  4. HEART-KEEPERS

    Shadows in coulees,
    Shadows on stones,
    Shadows on willows,
    Shadows on bones;

    Subtle the shadows,
    Nature’s dark art;
    Nothing but shadows
    Can keep my heart.

  7. Lovely photos. Where I live in the UK, Essex, is one of the flattest areas. It is something that we do not think about until we leave the county and start seeing a changing landscape. So hills are something of a novelty for us.xxx

  10. I wonder when that boulder will loose its perch? There's a word for that kind of formation but I don't know it and and have lots of that here too. Beautiful place for a hike/walk!

  13. The rocks are full of wonderful colors, and artistic in looks. The shadows leave a lovely signature to these nice formations in the summer...
